Thought I would share. This sometimes happens within a Neo' Breeding. A baby like this can kill a litter due to getting stuck in the process, even possibly loose the bitch. [ image disabled ]
If you breed long enough you will see this happen eventually. From my understanding it happens in the last 48 hours before birth and is a circulation problem. Most of the time they are born alive and die later. Although a bulldog breeder told me that if it is not too severe they can be treated with lasex and survive and be normal?
In 20 years I have had 2 puppies like this in 2 different litters. My vet said it is not hereditary but more of an accident that happens inside the uterus.
"treated with lasex and survive and be normal? " Yes-In that original link I posted it goes into that. I have had it as well with Fenice. I think it is definately something to be aware of for people if they are trying to breed, and whelp a litter at home...Like myself =) Thank you for your honesty.
LMAO-Well and I should say that I have NEVER seen one make it either....I asked my Vet and that is what they told me as well as on that link...But I agree Water Babies...eh' look like special little one's.
